Variants & sibling models — and how to tell them apart (spec-contamination risk)Same 260 mm cube and the same machine dimensions as the Kobra 4 (455.4 x 445.3 x 461.3 mm) - the difference is that the Kobra X has native 4-colour printing built in, expandable to 19 colours, where the Kobra 4 needs an ACE 2 Pro for any multicolour at all. The Kobra X also takes a wider filament list (adds PVA, PLA-CF, PETG-CF, ASA) but still needs an ACE 2 Pro for active drying

Problems & troubleshooting

Locate the clog before disassembly

The official guide distinguishes nozzle blockage, a blocked heatsink/four-hole passage and an internal printhead-path blockage. Start by identifying the location, then follow the matching disassembly route and verification steps.

Applies to: Kobra X multi-channel printhead. Other Kobra toolheads have different internal paths and removal procedures.

Wider external spool-holder extension

The creator’s clip-on extension accommodates the 77 mm-wide spools used in their Kobra X setup. An included parametric OpenSCAD file allows the width to be adjusted instead of forcing a wide spool into the original holder.

Applies to: Kobra X original external holder; the supplied STL was used with 77 mm spools. Verify retention and spool rotation for other widths.

TPU cable guide

This open-back guide clamps around the cable base and coils around the cable to manage its path. The creator specifies TPU 95A and a flat, support-free print orientation.

Applies to: Kobra X; use the V2 design and check the cable path over the full motion range after fitting.

Firmware & software

Rinkhals compatibility boundary

Rinkhals explicitly excludes Kobra X: its K4 software base and signed update packages differ from the supported Kobra OS machines. Do not install a Kobra 3 or S1 package on this model.

Applies to: Kobra X only; this is an explicit project compatibility warning, not a replacement firmware recommendation.

How to read this guide

This guide presents the catalog’s sourced record for this exact model. Source dates belong to each reference; a page update does not mean every specification has been rechecked.

Prices are dated listing snapshots, with configuration, regional and sale conditions. They are not current offers. Unknown values remain unfilled.

Firmware, variants and available accessories can change. Read the original reference before making a purchase or planning a process.

Ownership research & coverage

Firmware, modifications and troubleshooting links are checked against the model and stated hardware or firmware revision. A creator’s compatibility claim is not a fit test by this site. Official troubleshooting describes a diagnostic route; individual reports do not establish a failure rate.

This review did not verify hardware upgrades for this exact model. That is a research gap, not a claim that none exist.
