ABS with a flame-retardant package rated UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm on the base resin; the retardant lifts density to 1.18 g/cm³ and cuts elongation at break from 10 % to 4 %.
FR-ABS is selected when flame behavior is an explicit enclosure or equipment requirement. 3DXTech markets Firewire FR-ABS toward consumer electronics, industrial equipment and transport applications. The useful distinction from ordinary ABS is the flame-retardant resin package, rather than a blanket increase in strength or heat resistance.
The published UL 94 result belongs to the base resin at a stated thickness; it does not certify an arbitrary printed enclosure. Wall thickness, print orientation, assembly and the relevant end-product test still matter. Published grade data also show reduced elongation compared with unfilled ABS, so strained snap fits may be less suitable even when the flame behavior makes the formulation attractive.
FDM · 3DXTech Firewire FR-ABS; rating applies to base resin · Manufacturer-listed applications
3DXTech lists these sectors for Firewire FR-ABS. Flame-retardant base resin provides a starting material for design and testing; it is not evidence that a particular FDM housing meets an end-product fire requirement.

Values describe representative grades, not every spool. Manufacturer datasheets and independent tests retain their source labels and dates. Printed orientation, test method, conditioning and formulation can change results. Unknown values are —. A listed use is not a certification. Shore A, Shore D and Rockwell hardness are separate scales.
