The entry point to the sulfones at $250/kg: Tg 185-187 °C against PPSU's 230 °C, but 8 % printed elongation against 3 %, so it is markedly less brittle. Only 3DXTech sells it as filament in this survey.
PSU is used for plumbing manifolds, fitting bodies, balancing valves and faucet cartridges, where resistance to hot chlorinated water and low water uptake help preserve function. Syensqo also lists biopharmaceutical connectors, clamps, valves and sensor housings, where strength, transparency and hydrolytic stability are useful. These roles explain why PSU can be chosen even when the greater repeated-steam capability of PPSU is unnecessary.
A different major use is filtration: PSU is solution-processed into hollow-fiber, flat-sheet and tubular membranes for water treatment and dialysis. Solvent processing creates the controlled membrane structure; ordinary FDM does not reproduce that function. For solid mechanical parts, PSU offers a lower thermal ceiling than PPSU and is vulnerable to stress cracking from ketones, esters and aromatic solvents. Cleaning chemistry and sustained hot-water loading can therefore decide whether it suits the component.

Syensqo identifies hollow-fiber, flat-sheet and tubular sulfone membranes, using solvent processing and hydrolytic stability to create filtration structures for demanding aqueous service.
