PETG regranulated from polyester waste. Prusa's own testing shows a 9 % drop in tensile yield and a 17 % drop in interlayer adhesion against virgin Prusament PETG, with diameter tolerance loosening from ±0.02 to ±0.05 mm.
Recycled PETG can perform the same broad organizing, holding and enclosure roles as virgin PETG when the chosen feedstock and grade meet the design requirements. Prusa lists mechanical parts and workshop holders for its recycled grade and reports that it is made from recycled Prusament PETG. The engineering benefit is retaining useful material in a functional application rather than assuming recycled material has unique mechanical advantages.
Prusament’s recycled-versus-virgin comparison shows lower tensile yield and interlayer adhesion than its virgin counterpart, even though heat deflection and modulus are similar. That makes highly stressed thin features less forgiving. Also separate unfilled recycled PETG from products such as PETG-rCF08, which add recycled carbon fibre and have different stiffness, brittleness and hardware requirements.

Prusa lists these uses on its recycled PETG page. The page’s general statement about MK3 printer parts identifies PETG, so it is not evidence that those production parts use the recycled grade.

Values describe representative grades, not every spool. Manufacturer datasheets and independent tests retain their source labels and dates. Printed orientation, test method, conditioning and formulation can change results. Unknown values are —. A listed use is not a certification. Shore A, Shore D and Rockwell hardness are separate scales.
