Amorphous PEKK avoids PEEK's crystallisation-control problem and prints at a lower chamber temperature. Unfilled grades give 73-90 MPa printed in plane; the 15 % carbon aerospace grade posts the highest printed tensile, flexural and modulus figures in this dataset at 126, 178 and 9125 MPa.

Applications

PEKK is used for demanding lightweight components where chemical resistance, heat capability and manufacturing control matter together. Arkema shows an aircraft door bracket printed in Kepstan PEKK and discusses industrial FFF and laser-sintering applications. Its controllable crystallization behavior gives manufacturers more freedom to balance processing, interlayer bonding and final properties than a simple comparison of polymer strength would suggest.

PEKK grades can be selected for different crystallization rates and processed into amorphous or crystalline structures. Crystalline processing and annealing change the balance of chemical, thermal and dimensional behavior; carbon reinforcement trades ductility for stiffness, while ESD grades address charge dissipation. Match the grade and thermal history to the job rather than treating all PEKK as one material. Printed interlayer behavior and residual stress remain important for loaded parts.

How to read these values

Values describe representative grades, not every spool. Manufacturer datasheets and independent tests retain their source labels and dates. Printed orientation, test method, conditioning and formulation can change results. Unknown values are —. A listed use is not a certification. Shore A, Shore D and Rockwell hardness are separate scales.
