The aircraft-interior PEI: UL 94 V-0 plus a documented flame, smoke and toxicity pedigree, HDT 178 °C at 0.45 MPa, and the best-characterised anisotropy in this dataset — Stratasys publishes XZ and ZX values side by side across three printers and three tips.
ULTEM 9085 is used for lightweight interior components where mechanical performance must accompany documented flame, smoke and toxicity behavior. Stratasys lists production parts and demanding tooling, and its Airbus program specifically identifies nonstructural brackets and system-installation parts manufactured by FDM. On-demand production can also reduce the inventory and lead-time burden of low-volume components.
Interior applications depend on a controlled combination of material, geometry and production process; the Airbus result does not qualify an arbitrary 9085 print. For mechanical design, account for the lower thermal ceiling than 1010 and the substantial difference between in-plane and cross-layer impact behavior. Drying, chamber control and warp management are demanding, and attachment details should distribute loads instead of concentrating them at thin printed features.
