Variants & sibling models — and how to tell them apart (spec-contamination risk)Not simply a longer TAZ Pro. The Long Bed ships the Asteroid 285 tool head with a 1.2 mm nozzle, a 0.3-0.9 mm equipped layer range, an 80 °C bed cap (vs 110 °C), 150 mm/s travel (vs 300) and BLTouch 32-point mesh levelling (vs 4-point contact). Bed material also differs: blue spring-steel magnetic flex rather than glass with PEI film

Problems & troubleshooting

Diagnostic starting point after a Long Bed conversion

For problems beginning after the documented conversion, verify that Cura LulzBot Edition selects the Long Bed and HS+ configuration, that the BLTouch adapter is installed, and that the flashed firmware and LCD toolhead selection match. These manufacturer setup checks provide a diagnostic starting point.

Applies to: Scoped to the TAZ Pro S Long Bed conversion with BLTouch adapter and HS+ 1.20 mm toolhead; the guide specifies Cura LE 3.6.38 or newer. Other probe/toolhead packages need their own instructions. No recurring defect is established.

How to read this guide

This guide presents the catalog’s sourced record for this exact model. Source dates belong to each reference; a page update does not mean every specification has been rechecked.

Prices are dated listing snapshots, with configuration, regional and sale conditions. They are not current offers. Unknown values remain unfilled.

Firmware, variants and available accessories can change. Read the original reference before making a purchase or planning a process.

Ownership research & coverage

Firmware, modifications and troubleshooting links are checked against the model and stated hardware or firmware revision. A creator’s compatibility claim is not a fit test by this site. Official troubleshooting describes a diagnostic route; individual reports do not establish a failure rate.

This review did not verify printable modifications for this exact model. That is a research gap, not a claim that none exist.
