A PA6/66 copolymer that prints more easily than straight PA6. Polymaker publishes full dry and wet printed blocks for it: at 6.16 % moisture, tensile falls 78 to 34 MPa and modulus 2703 to 724 MPa, while notched impact quadruples.

Applications

PA6/66 copolymers tune the nylon backbone to make useful mechanical parts easier to manufacture. For PolyMide CoPA, Polymaker describes slower crystallization as the reason for reduced warping during printing, while preserving a balance of nylon toughness, strength and thermal behavior. The engineering benefit is obtaining a complex functional nylon part without fighting the same shrinkage behavior as an untuned formulation.

Reduced warping during manufacture does not mean stable properties at every service humidity. CoPA loses substantial stiffness and strength after water conditioning while becoming more resistant to notched impact. A positioning bracket and an impact-contact part therefore benefit from different aspects of the same polymer. Printed direction, conditioning and timely support removal matter, and its Vicat softening figure must not be mistaken for heat resistance under load.

How to read these values

Values describe representative grades, not every spool. Manufacturer datasheets and independent tests retain their source labels and dates. Printed orientation, test method, conditioning and formulation can change results. Unknown values are —. A listed use is not a certification. Shore A, Shore D and Rockwell hardness are separate scales.
