Variants & sibling models — and how to tell them apart (spec-contamination risk)Ordered by colour (black or silver) and mains voltage (110 V or 220 V). Mellow describes the kit as a test version that still requires the buyer to print some components, and the 5-inch DSI screen requires a host computer that supports DSI — neither is included

Build the project’s exhaust-filter housing

VzBoT publishes housing, guard and associated parts for an exhaust-filter assembly. Match the enclosure opening, fan and filter hardware; a printable housing by itself does not establish filtration performance.

Applies to: Vz330 enclosure assembly in the project BOM. Check dimensions against the installed Mellow/CNC enclosure before making parts.

Problems & troubleshooting

Driver overheating: verify the external-driver cooling

The Mellow electronics guide requires heatsinks and active cooling for the external TMC5160 drivers. Inspect that cooling arrangement when diagnosing temperature-related driver trouble rather than compensating with higher current or speed settings.

Applies to: Mellow Vz330 kit with external TMC5160 HV drivers. Other controlboard/driver combinations need their own thermal requirements.

Problems & troubleshooting

Random MCU disconnects on a Super8 Pro H723 build

The firmware README identifies random disconnection or shutdown on the STM32H723 Super8 Pro configuration and describes switching the affected TMC5160 sections from hardware to software SPI. Confirm the board/chip and current configuration before applying that specific remedy.

Applies to: Super8 Pro with STM32H723 and the documented driver configuration. This does not diagnose unrelated USB or power problems on other boards.

Firmware & software

Start from the Vz330 AWD Klipper configuration

The project supplies an AWD printer configuration together with required macro files. Adapt MCU identity, pins and the installed hardware; the example is not a drop-in configuration for every Vz330 controller.

Applies to: Documented Mellow Fly Super8 with TMC5160 HV for XY and TMC2209 for E/Z. The maintainer also requires the linked Linux-process MCU setup.

How to read this guide

This guide presents the catalog’s sourced record for this exact model. Source dates belong to each reference; a page update does not mean every specification has been rechecked.

Prices are dated listing snapshots, with configuration, regional and sale conditions. They are not current offers. Unknown values remain unfilled.

Firmware, variants and available accessories can change. Read the original reference before making a purchase or planning a process.

Ownership research & coverage

Firmware, modifications and troubleshooting links are checked against the model and stated hardware or firmware revision. A creator’s compatibility claim is not a fit test by this site. Official troubleshooting describes a diagnostic route; individual reports do not establish a failure rate.

This review did not verify hardware upgrades for this exact model. That is a research gap, not a claim that none exist.
