Break-away support compounded to survive a PEEK or PEI build: Tg 225 °C, where PVA and PLA-based supports would decompose. Needs a dual-extruder machine rated for high-temperature materials.

Applications

High-temperature supports are used when a model polymer's nozzle and chamber conditions would soften or degrade ordinary support. 3DXTech matches MTS1 to PC and PC/ABS, while HTS2 is listed for PEKK, PEEK, PEI, PPSU, PSU and PPS. These THERMAX materials are breakaway supports: they provide a temporary foundation during the hot build and then require mechanical access for removal.

The category also includes a different removal method. IEMAI identifies HT-SP as alkaline-soluble support for high-performance polymers and their reinforced compounds, with an alkaline bath rather than plain water. That can address geometry that traps breakaway support, provided the model tolerates the bath and liquid can reach the support. Temperature capability, adhesion and removal chemistry must therefore be checked for the exact support grade rather than inferred from the high-temperature label.

3DXTech lists HTS2 for several high-temperature model polymers and explicitly describes it as a breakaway support for dual-extruder printers.

How to read these values

Values describe representative grades, not every spool. Manufacturer datasheets and independent tests retain their source labels and dates. Printed orientation, test method, conditioning and formulation can change results. Unknown values are —. A listed use is not a certification. Shore A, Shore D and Rockwell hardness are separate scales.
